Facebook slowly rolled out Facebook Cover Video and now it is widely available for Facebook users.
This means that instead of a regular static banner image, you can now feature a video as your Facebook Cover.
Cool, hey?
This is what Facebook says about their Cover Videos:
By making cover video available, we want to help you create more engaging interactions and drive more rich experience for your audience by letting you spotlight your creative content in one of the most prominent spaces: your Page cover – Facebook.Â
Faecbook Cover Videos are an additional way for you to showcase your brand. Here's how you do it:
How to Create Facebook Cover Videos
1  Hover over your Facebook Cover Image and click on the “Change Cover” button that pops up.
2 Â Use the drop down menu and choose “Choose from Videos” or “Upload Photos/Video” to create your cover video.
3 Â Upload your Facebook Cover Video.
4 Â Crop and edit the video for the best fit.
5 Â Enable your fans to see a new side of your business!
Here are a few tips and things you should know when you are uploading and setting up your video:
- Even thought the cover image is wider than a standard video, upload your video and then you can drag and drop it and/or crop it to the correct size. Â Try to use video that has the most important content in the middle of the image so it is not cut off.
- Videos must be at least 20 seconds long but no longer than 90 seconds.
- Facebook recommends you use dimensions of 820 x 312 pixels.
- Your video should be 1080p.
- You'll need to choose a thumbnail image for your Facebook Cover Video. Â Choose something that shows what the video is about and teases/encourages people to click play on your video.
- Facebook Cover videos will autoplay and auto-loop so they are a great way to catch attention on the newsfeed.
Let's take a look at a 7 inspiring examples of Facebook Cover Videos. Be sure to check them out to see what is possible for your brand:
